Daniel Brooks is a woodworker and furniture maker based in Asheville, North Carolina. He found woodworking at 16, helping his grandfather restore old wooden furniture, and has been building ever since. Over 22 years he has worked on furniture construction, traditional joinery, wood finishing and practical home projects, and today he designs and builds furniture in his own home workshop.
At Woodworking Nest, Daniel reviews plans for clarity, accuracy and practicality. He checks measurements, material lists and assembly steps, suggests changes that make projects easier for beginners, and adds tips from his own time in the workshop.
“Good woodworking isn’t about having the most expensive tools. It’s about patience, precision, and the satisfaction of building something with your own hands.”

How Daniel reviews a plan
Every plan on Woodworking Nest starts from a 3D part model, so the cut list, the diagrams and the finished size always agree. Daniel then reads the plan the way a builder would. He checks the measurements and the shopping list, follows the steps in order, and flags anything that is unclear, awkward or unsafe. A plan shows “Reviewed by Daniel Brooks” only after he has read it, with the date of his review.
